Description
GeoGuessr is an online geography game that challenges players to guess locations around the world using only visual clues from Google Street View (or similar map images). Launched in 2013 by Swedish IT consultant Anton Wallén, the game quickly became popular because of its simple yet addictive concept: you’re dropped somewhere random on a map — maybe a dirt road in Botswana, a bustling street in Tokyo, or a lonely mountain pass in Norway — and you must figure out where you are.
You can move around, look at signs, study the vegetation, analyze architecture, and use any hint you can find to make your best guess. The closer your guess is to the actual location, the more points you score.
Instructions
GeoGuessr has evolved a lot since its early days. Here are some of the main ways to play:
Classic Mode: The original experience — you're placed somewhere random and have to guess your location.
Battle Royale: A competitive mode where players race against each other to guess correctly and avoid elimination.
Streaks: Guess the right country or city repeatedly and see how long you can last without making a mistake.
Explorer Mode: Explore specific countries or cities and test your knowledge of a particular region.
Custom Maps: Play maps made by other players focusing on themes like "World Famous Landmarks" or "Only Rural Roads."
